This round is outfitted with an 85 grain projectile, which will strike a target with approximately 185 ft lbs of energy at close range. It’s not much compared to a 44 Mag, but that’s the tradeoff you accept when you choose a smaller, more easily concealed handgun. The Silvertip jacketed hollow point’s nickel-plated exterior makes it shiny. In other words, it offers no real practical advantage. But the JHP’s skived jacket does enable it to open up reliably as it pierces soft tissue, which translates to the wider wound channel that is more effective at neutralizing a threat.
Winchester loads this ammo with dependable Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Order the whole flat and you’ll have enough ammo for target practice before you might potentially rely on it for personal protection!
