Lawman rounds use “total metal jacket” plating which covers the entire bullet in copper. This renders the bullet unsuitable for ported barrels, which can shear the copper, but lowers the cost of the ammo and provides some lead hazard protection for the shooter. Expect muzzle velocity of about 950 feet per second from this ammo, just like Gold Dot in .380 Auto. Each cartridge in this box of 50 uses Boxer-primed reloadable brass cases.
Speer enjoys a strong reputation among CCW holders and law enforcement officers due to the success of its Gold Dot personal protection ammunition. A division of Alliant Techsystems, it operates from its longtime headquarters and production facility in Lewiston, Idaho, along with sister company CCI. The company was founded in 1944 and built a thriving bullet-manufacturing business before its successful entry into the loaded ammo market.
